Sarah Heneghan and Timothy Knowles

Sarah Heneghan is a Sheffield-based drummer and composer with a love for the unusual and the curious. Aside from Power Out, her solo show of drums, electronics and lights, she has been in numerous collaborations, including Nishla Smith, Tim Knowles Quartet, Emergence Collective & wolf peaches. Sarah has received support from Arts Council England, London Jazz Festival, Manchester Jazz Festival & Lancaster Jazz Festival for developing her music & projects. Sarah runs Key of She, a community project in Sheffield that curates opportunities for female and minority gender musicians in the North to improvise and create music together. She also co-runs Footprints Artist Development, a talent development scheme for budding jazz projects in Sheffield.

Timothy Knowles is a musician and educator based in Leeds. His current creative projects include Timothy Knowles et al; minimalist improv quartet FAH-FLA-TAS; and interdisciplinary community performance group the Company of Artistic Interventions. Tim lectures in Performance at the University of Sheffield, and has a PhD in the organisation and social dynamics of musical participation. He has been delivering music workshops across the country since 2011.
