A night of patterns over two venues. Panke’s dancefloor will host upfront pattern-based dance music, including some of the UK’s best electronic musicians and algorave artists writing code to make music to dance to. Delicious Clam will be a chilled space with more laid-back performances and DJs, with some patterny craft activities to try out. You’ll be able to move freely between the two venues.

In Panke Social:

  • Lover of synthesis and repetition James Holden will share new work with his handmade “benny” system.
  • Algorave duo badcirculation will take an algorithmic approach to classic drum machine patterns.
  • Digital Selves will bring her celebrated and very patterny live coded dance music up from London
  • Electric Detectives will pair their homegrown visual synthesis system with live coded music.
  • Renowned Sheffield-based DJ MYNA will explore diverse bass music influences through code, which like many of the other performances will projected for your pleasure
  • 65daysofstatic member Polinski will bring his latest dancefloor-oriented audio/visual experiments
  • Innocent will bring his home-grown algorave euphoria

Next door in Delicious Clam with a more laid back vibe:

  • Asa Rum will share his table top “Tidal Table” interface for musical pattern transformation
  • Bundy will blend singer-songwriting and spoken word with live coding
  • Jo Kazuhiro from Japan and Cellar Dweller from Sheffield Techno Institute will make minimal techno by playing specially prepared records handmade from paper and other materials
  • Mysterious international, algorithmic jam band Pastagang through their custom multi-user live coding interface
  • and our best friends Interworld will create a soundtrack to chilled out craft activities into the night

We will also have hands-on activities to explore, including a drop-in workshop generating chickens run by the Italian collective Draft Masters.
